We operate two BMW K1200GT SE motorcycles as the safety and comfort of this all new model is exceptional. BMW have successfully combined comfort, power and reliability to produce a touring motorcycle that only other BMW models can match.

Comfort features

Expansive bodywork and adjustable electric screen reduce the effects of any adverse weather conditions, resulting in a quieter ride and providing significant protection.

The pillion passenger seating position is both comfortable and secure.

Large hand grips within easy reach on either side of the large pillion seat.

Supportive backrest - which is an integral part of the top-mounted luggage box.

Low-set foot pegs for a more natural seating position.

The exhaust muffler is mounted low at the rear right hand side of the motorcycle and is shielded from the pillion by the pannier.

Heated seats that can be individually controlled by the rider and pillion are extremely effective in taking the chill out of a cold early morning. The rider also has heated handgrips.

Lockable and weatherproof luggage consisting of two panniers and a top-box allow the safe carriage of personal effects, which can be left unattended in the same way as in a car boot.

On-board communication system allows rider-to-pillion and bike-to-bike communication – all four travellers can communicate freely and continuously.

Touring features

Cruise control allows easy maintenance of road speed within speed limits in all conditions.

Minimum engine and road noise contributing to reduced rider and passenger fatigue.

BMW Navigator III GPS allows for easy navigation with an easy-to-read screen, provides detour options if roads are closed as well as valuable touring information such as the locations of service stations, hotels, cafes, restaurants etc.

Safety features

Electronic suspension adjustment (ESA) allows the rider to optimise the suspension settings whilst on the move to account for variations in road quality. It is also adjustable to compensate for the addition of luggage or a pillion passenger.

ABS is fitted as standard to the EVO integrated braking system allowing optimum and safe braking in all weather conditions.

The EVO system proportionally applies the rear brake when the front brake is applied to provide the optimum braking balance between the front and rear wheels.

DuoLever front and ParaLever rear suspensions unique to BMW motorcycles offer the optimum balance between performance and comfort.

The DuoLever system allows the rider to apply the brakes whilst cornering if necessary without affecting front suspension performance.

Drive-train features

Drive-train consists of a transversely-mounted 1200cc, water-cooled, fuel-injected four cylinder in line engine, six-speed sequential transmission.

Power output: 152bhp @9,500rpm

Torque output: 130Nm @ 7,750rpm

Rear wheel shaft drive provides a clean, quiet and maintenance-free transmission of power to the road.

Digital Engine Management System (EMS) features oxygen and knock sensors (BMS-K) for optimum performance under all performance conditions.

Fuel required: 98-octane (automatic electronic compensation for lower grade fuel if necessary).

Emission control: 3-way catalytic converter providing minimum environmental impact.

Fuel consumption: 4.8L/100km @ 90km/h
